This nationally recognised course is for all workers who may be required to provide CPR in a range of community and workplace settings and describes the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines, until the arrival of medical or other assistance.

This workshop covers the following:
Recognise and respond to cardiac emergencies in line with the DRSABCD action plan
Perform safe and effective CPR on adults, children, and infants
Use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), including pad placement and follow-up care
Manage unconscious breathing and non-breathing casualties until medical help arrives
Ensure scene safety, assess the casualty, and call for emergency services
Apply infection control procedures during resuscitation, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Provide CPR as part of a team response in workplace or community settings
Understand legal and ethical considerations, such as duty of care, consent, and privacy
Accurately document and report the incident according to workplace protocols and regulatory requirements
Maintain CPR skills through ongoing practice, in line with current Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines
Whilst there are no pre-requisites for this course, please be aware that in order to make an accurate verbal report to the supervisor and the emergency response services as well as provide written incident reports, adequate language skills are required and assessed.
Participants will need to participate in physical tasks and will be required to kneel on the floor to allow assessment as stipulated by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC). Participants will need to wear appropriate attire to allow movement on the floor.
Online pre-assessment: Prior to the classroom attendance, participants will be required to complete a pre-assessment. This will be submitted prior to your classroom session and assessed as “Satisfactory”.
Classroom: 2 hours (Maximum class size of 15 persons per workshop)
On successful completion of this course, participants will then receive a Statement of Attainment within 10 business days.
All Health Training and The Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) recommends this course to be renewed annually from the date of issue.
